Bruce
A. Merchant O.B.E.
Bruce
Merchant is our Senior Partner, who takes a particular interest
in company and commercial work, conveyancing and wills. He
is a member of the Conveyancing Committee of the Law Society
in Scotland and has taken a particular interest in the modernisation
of the system of landownership in Scotland about which he
gave evidence to the Justice 1 Committee of the Scottish Parliament.
He is also a member of the Research Ethics Committee of the
Highland Health Board.

Alexander
Mills
Sandy
Mills specialises in civil court work, claims and personal
injury work for major insurers, contract matters and commercial
conveyancing, including securities and leases. He also represents
Inverness Squash Club, both as a solicitor and as a player
and is keen on running, sailing, skiing, hill walking and
football. He has been able to combine his leisure interests
with work to some extent by advising on maritime matters including
yacht charter and boat construction contracts and dealing
with winter sports injury claims.

Richard
J. Skelton
Richard
Skelton practises in the areas of civil court, matrimonial
work, domestic and commercial conveyancing and crofting law.
He is a member of Royal Dornoch Golf Club and in spite of
having lived in Inverness since 1973 and supported the local
football teams he still carries the burden of flying the flag
for Brechin City FC, home of his boyhood heroes. The famous
Hedge is still there!

Alan
G. McDonald
Alan
qualified as a solicitor in 1979 and became a partner in South
Forrest in 1982. He specialises in company/corporate work
and in commercial conveyancing and leasing transactions. Alan
has been involved in the formation of many local companies
a number of which have sought and become recognised as charities.
In 2004 he was appointed as a member of the Scottish Solicitors
Discipline Tribunal. Outwith the office Alan spends time with
his family and enjoys swimming and strumming a guitar (but
not at the same time!).

Julia
Cameron
Julia
Cameron is in charge of our Private Client Department. She
deals with preparation of will, tax planning, the setting
up of trusts, the operation of powers of attorney and the
administration of curatory and executry estates. She also
has a particular interest in the needs of the elderly client.
Julia lives with her family on the Black Isle where she is
involved in the local community.

Rhona
J. Simpson
Rhona
assists and specialises in domestic conveyancing and other
property related work. She also advises on liquor licensing
and undertakes Licensing Board appearances. Rhona has a variety
of outside interests including serving as Treasurer to the
Provost Smith Memorial Trust, member of the Merkinch School
Board, a Director of Highland Solicitors' Property Centre
and Crafts Adviser for the County Girl Guide Association.
When not in the office her favourite activity is pottering
about in boats.

Martin
Smith
Martin
specialises in court work with a particular emphasis on reparation
and personal injury cases, in which he has experience of acting
both for the injured party and on behalf of insurance companies.
He holds a Masters Degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications
Law, and is able to offer advice in the area of e-commerce
law.
